ORGANIZE YOUR ITEMS BY CATEGORY, SIZE AND GENDER. THIS WILL MAKE PUTTING YOUR ITEMS AWAY FASTER AND EASIER FOR YOU.
Puzzles and Books
If you want to sell more than one for a set price, type the collection name and 1 of however many you have. Copy the tag and place on each one. Another option is to seal them in a zip loc bag. Elastices do NOT work. Unsealed zip loc bags do NOT work. Once your set separates we have no way of know which ones went together.
Shoes
Whether you are placing them in a zip loc bag or zip tying, place the tag on one shoe. Again, if the tag is on the bag and the shoes are removed, we have know way of identifying the shoes.
Tags
The first line should have the brand. The second line should be an obvious description. Include codes like NWT (New With Tags) to let shoppers know the item was never worn. By following the steps above, we can identify items with lost tags easily.
Consider putting your best price on the item, discounting 50% on Sunday and then donating to Cradles to Crayons. At the end of the day, most of us just want to recycle and make some extra cash. Consignors who follow this guideline usually enjoy a profitable easy experience.
Pricing
This is difficult and really subjective. If I pay $12 for a top, then I will price it at $4. A third is usually a good guideline. Did you forget what you paid? Look up similar items on line. Remember, do not sell yourself short either. This is not a yard sale.
Group Items
Shoppers love to pick up outfits. Match your own when possible. These sell!
New Born Clothing
We tend to get alot of bably clothes. Consignors end up with an abundance from hand me downs to presents. Put your best items in the sale. There is too much competition to sell less than high quality.
PJs and Bathing suits
Believe it or not, these are hot items.
Baby Equipment
Take a few minutes to wipe down your equipment. We see the most beautiful items that were pulled from the basement and never wiped down. No one wants an upscale stroller if it is dirty. I don't care how great a deal it is.
The inventory we resell is used, but we want to let our shoppers know that these items are coming from homes that take care and pride in their stuff. We try each sale to improve quality because what people see represents what kind of sale we are!
